In the case of a car breakdown or accident, you will be relieved to have a few items handy that could be useful in various situations, especially during the winter.

We suggest you keep the following items in the trunk or glove compartment of your vehicle:

  • A shovel and a scraper
  • A flashlight
  • A first-aid kit Sand, salt or cat litter
  • Traction belts
  • Tow strap
  • Flares or warning lights
  • Extra clothing and footwear
  • A blanket (preferably a “survival” blanket)
  • Non-perishable food items and water bottles
  • Booster cables Matches and a “survival” candle placed in a deep metal box (to warm your hands, heat a beverage or to be used as emergency lighting)
  • A fire extinguisher A defroster (methanol)
  • Scissors to cut safety belts
  • Rags or paper towels
  • A vest with reflective strips

With these items, you will be able to take care of your basic needs while waiting for help to arrive.
